Just trying to vent here I have my cpl with multi add on Instrument rated as well. The more I continue my training the more I give up hope after what I read on these forums . I have a great passion and known it isn't easy and I'm not complaining about that. However I have two busts under my record my private and my commercial single engine initial. My private i take full responsibility for I flew a 152 that had a dg that had horrible precession and my mistake not resetting it on my takeoff roll and forgetting about it the entire flight. To this day it has never happend to me again I learned my mistake and made sure it never happend again. However my commercial I cannot overcome to this day. I was prepared as could be the oral was less then an hour scored a 100 on the written all my manuvers were to Pts standards and I was told by my dpe that she has never flown with anyone that has done better landings in the plane I flew. I did my ifr with her as well and she commented that I am good at what I do and I am a pleasure to fly with. However she busted me for the power off 180 and emergency procedures because I brought the prop to low rpm. Per poh best glide is archieved with brining the prop to a high pitch setting/low rpm Explained it to her pleaded with her but nope forget about it. The entire flight i was under the assumption I passed the ride until we debriefed on the ground and she told me we have to go up again. I couldn't believe it on top of that I was being compared to a flight she had the day before saying another person was doing the same thing but I know who the person was and he passed somehow. After reading on here if you have more then 2 busts no one looks at you and according to society I'm a horrible pilot but I know people with zero busts that I can fly circles around especially some people I've flown with from 141 schools who can't even establish a hold and confess they failed there ifr 5 times but yet these people have clean records and are considered safe. I would be more worried about them . My commercial retest took .4. Was this really needed did I learn anything no i did not. Of course I can't say that in an interview. I want to go through my cfi ratings as that is the only way I can build hours but seeing how many people have issues with the cfi initial I'm freaking out because if I bust that I know my future is not bright anymore . Each day I try to stay positive and do my best but its starting to get hard to. Any advice would be appreciated thank you for your time.

Your busts are what they are. There is nothing you can do about it. Nothing wrong with a little venting, either. All I can say is stay positive and if you are as passionate as you say you are, then keep working toward your ultimate goal. There is nothing wrong with still applying at places if and when you meet their minimums. Keep networking and keep your head up. I am not a 121 guy, but some companies outside of the airlines wont even care to know or even care to find out about those busts. If you show you are of good character and you have good skills in the cockpit, there is a job out there somewhere for you. It just might be a little bit more difficult than someone who has a perfect record.
