Default does this look stupid?

Private pilots or even student pilots that wear the white shirt with 4 captains bars when their not commercial pilots and haven't earned the ratings to justify the captains bars.

Ok well say they don't for the sake of conversation, if you are not a commercial pilot or ATP you haven't earned that right.

What do you think about CFIs wearing them?

It's up to the company/flight school to determine who will wear what. "Earn" is a relative term, especially in an industry that promotes based on seniority, not merit.

I feel bad for those students. Looks dumber than hell. I am glad I got out of my academy just when that uniform trend started kickin in. I've seen my students wear zero bars for student, one bar for pvt, 2 for ifr, so on and so forth...

I'm all for making students dress professionally and having some pride in what they're doing but it just looks goofy. Hell I'm tired of wearing MY uniform already! Only time it got me some play was in places where pilots are seen as more than drivers anyway

If you have to ask, then it probably does look stupid.

I still cant get over all of the students/instructors wanting to wear uniforms while those of us that HAVE TO wear uniforms are trying not to.

it's like I want everyone to know i'm a pilot, but when you get a few hundred hours its not a big deal anymore. I've known pilots that hate their job and all the crap that goes with it, and wish they chose a different profession.
