Default Multi Training

I did not see a thread for training so I will ask here. I am about to start multi engine training. I am considering going to Birmingham Flight Center in Birmingham, AL. Has anbody here been there and if so how was your experience? Thanks

There is an entire thread (and its long) on multi-engine training on here.

I'm not sure what you're looking for (i.e. nicer planes, a certain location, cheapest cost, etc) but if you're basing your decision mostly or fully on a cost basis, that thread goes into detail about the cheapest multi engine rental rates in the country and names several that top the list. I believe they narrowed it down to Vetter Aviation in Montana. They have unbelievably cheap multi rental rates. The plane isn't a cream puff, but hey, it's multi time, and it's cheap. View the thread to see for yourself what people had to say. Someone went out there and then talked about it on here. From what I remember, they had pretty good things to say.

There's one catch- it's literally in the middle of nowhere, so good luck getting there (and getting out for that matter).

We have had dozens of discussions of this subject over the years. Using the V-Bullletin search window (not the Google search box), select "Flights Schools and Training" and put "multiengine" in the query. I also like to check "posts only" rather than get a list of complete threads. You might also search for schools in Birmingham.

I did my private pilot at Bham flight center years ago. It's not a bad place, but the maintenance on their acft has not been good the last couple of years.

If you want a good multi trainer check out water wings flight school, Charles is the owner operator and has a nicely maintained twin Comanche with CR props. Very reasonable and nice person at EKY. PM me if you want more info, I'd definitely recommend him over BFC for multi training. Not to mention you'll get more out of it than flying into BHM with the towered ops.
