Default Career plans???

Hello fellow pilots,

I need some serious advice; I am on my way to get my PPL with me having some flying lessons here and there. I would preferably like to make a career out of flying; however I am really hesitant on pursuing this venture after hearing that many pilots get have family issues because they’re never around. Therefore, can anyone direct me to any useful sites or give me advice on how I could potentially work around this in the future. What career options are there? Such as could short-haul be a good way to work around this, or just something where I could be home most days of the week? I just want to make sure that I am there for when I’m needed instead of being not being there later on.

Cheers guys.
