Yes and you get to learn all the ways a plane and another pilot can kill you.
I learned more teaching than Any other time in my career.

I came up to AK. Pay isn't great as a co-pilot, but the benifits are amazing. At 1000hrs they shove you in a Sled. It's VFR only, but it's a graduate course in stick and rudder skills, decision making, etc. After six months to a year they toss you in a Caravan and you get to do the same thing but IFR. 30+kt crosswind landing at just under max gross on a short runway? Yes please. There are plenty of downsides, but you will become a much better pilot.
