PH,
Well, AKL is a heck of a nice city to be based in. I was considering taking the RHS76 as I think we are OK for pilots on my fleet until Nov. But, it wasn't an offer yet, so I couldn't guerentee a job if I took LWOP; likely, but maybe not. The other thing is the pay cut, which is hard to justify considering I have a good job and to leave this one to take less money/benefits would not help anyone.
If your useing it to get to AKL though, and you can handle the sub-standard pay then great. But i think the 727 freight guys get paid more.
And FBH, thanks for the info. I didn't make it past the Narita Pilots Club/Cage circuit last week. . .must be getting old.

Thanks Koru, The Air Pac deal is substandard and I guess they know that and accept the high attrition rate...also tourism is being affected by Frankie's coup d'etat and has impacted on AP margins, through discounted fares.

I heard these guys hired at least one captain with less than 500 PIC in the 737. Anybody know how he got in? Are they short on Captain applicants yet? What if I have a 737 type but my PIC time (more than 500) is in a different airplane? Looks like a fun gig, probably more tolerable than China or the ME.

The hiring process at Air Pac has changed as they have acquired a new CEO. Allegedly a 767 skipper from a US carrier and even worse with a law degree.
The interview is done via SKYPE with the chief pilot and the gent from HR. Both very nice chaps. Easy as pie. Then a Psyche test and aptitude test is taken via computer through a company called Valuedge. From there an opinion is written as to whether or not the candidate would be a viable employee of the Company.
Imagine that... one's life can be decided by a computer test consisting of a two part math test, two part reading comprehension test and a multi-part profile evaluation.
What a world... unbelievable.
