Does this mean EY does not make you resign seniority? I'm a furloughee with an interview in October, but I'd like the option to come back if called.
I think that is implied but I wouldn't mention that in your interview. Just keep it as an option and focus on getting a job at EY. Who knows, maybe you will like it and not consider coming back to a broken airline industry and a very low seniority number for the next few years...

As a furloughee you need to distance yourself from the thought of any intention to return to your previous company. Etihad, and most other airlines, want you to commit to them over the long term. Some require that you prove that you have resigned.

Is it nice to have back-ups? Absolutely it is, Etihad will be no more loyal to you than any employer. Having back-ups is a good thing, just don't let them know you have it.

I guess that was the point of my original question. Are they going to ask for proof of resignation. I agree, going back in a few months or whenever to the same volatile industry is not appealing at all, and if offered and I accept I don't plan on coming back for at least a few years. I just want to know the option is there.

Total time depends. For FO's starting at 2000hrs, but everyone seems to have been on the bus or boeing for at least 2 years or more. However, they will look at you with a min of at least 500hrs on the bus. You MUST have an airbus or boeing type with 500hrs and be current, no exception to this rule (at least not for now, I am sure with time this will change). Or you can join their cadet program, however max is a PPL to get in.
Generally, boeing guys go on the B777, baby-bus on the A320 and all other buses to A330/340. Change on fleets is possible, however there are time requirments and staffing need criteria.

Happy Landings.

I was told you need a proof of resignation. Apparently, HR goes as far as calling your company to confirm.
