To nwapilot,
I work at the same place as you and one of our former pilot buds had left and is now just finishing his ride and soon to begin IOE. He loves it. At what point in the process are you? If you really want more info let me know and I can see what I can do. clock 235898

Thanks for the note. I have my interview scheduled at the end of May so I have not even been offered a job as of now. I am just trying to get a feel of what it is like there. That would be great if I could get in touch with him and ask some questions. Can you send me a message to [email protected].

If you'll be anywhere near Miami on the 22nd there will be two current EK pilots there to give a presentation during the AeroService job fair. It's free.

Still the mins are very high. They are clearly targeting a certain group that hhhmmm speaks "proper" English. I have been to many points throughout the Emirates route network. It isn't all that tough to figure out. 10,000 hours and more likely 5,000 hours command time to fly there. WOW! The toughest part would be to not mess up when you show off to your FO as you scream across the desert at 340 KIAS, 2,000', lined up on the LOC...........and you slow down a l i t t l e too late.

Haha......just having fun........although somebody will let me have it.

To be honest, they do require a high standard of English language proficiency. That, however, doesn't mean they are the least bit rascist. They'll take anybody from any religion and any skin color just as long as they can speak and understand English to the required standard.

As for the rest of the post

Found out today that it has, in fact, been lowered to 8000 total time but still 3000 PIC over 55 tonne. Don't see how that will help many people, but it is an indication that they are not finding enough qualified people at the previous minimums. That is why it is always a good idea to apply, even if you don't meet the minimums. The recruiters do take those statistics into management to show what they are able to get if they lower the requirements. Same idea would hold true for F.O. applicants.
