If you have a simple injury it might not be a big problem. For sure plan on having a myriad of records and Doctor diagnosis letters. If you have any metal like pins, screws, hardware it will be extremely difficult to pass and it will be picked up on an X-Ray.

The problem is there is no definitive answer on anything in China. The CAAC is divided up into several regions and the medical authority in each reagion has some autonomy. Furthermore within the region the relationship your company doctor has with the local medical authority will also affect what is acceptable and what is not. Because nobody in China wants to make a decision until forced to, and each decision has to be made with the agreement of several parties, the chances are that you will not get an answer you are in China and going through the process.
