Check out the video from FlightPod TV about hiring scams:

http://www.airlinepilotcentral.com/

For every legit airline out there, there seem to be scams connecting themselves to legitimate airline hiring practices.

More than ever, buyer beware!

Cograts!

Captain or F/O?

My comments relate to DEC.

Read Ace The Pilot Technical Interview (if you can stay awake that long), it should help with the 50 question exam.

Interview was straight forward personal stuff, "Tell us about yourself", "Why QR?", "How do you see your career with QR progressing?". At the end of the interview they offered me a list of sim dates. (My test and interview was during a roadshow).

A fairly simple process really. Overall I would suggest relaxing and being yourself would benefit you the most during the interview.

Good luck!!!

Are they hiring for FO's or mainly DEC's at this point?

I know for a fact that qatar airways does not give your family benefits for traveling on their airline until after training. Only certain members get benefits at that point.

You might want to do some investigation before doubting my post.

Not doubting your post. In fact, I believe I confirmed the fact that the information was asked, and I offered an explanation.

If you choose not to submit the requested information on your application. That is your business.

Good luck on your career.

Hi!

That is interesting about asking for the info for travel benefits.
I just assumed that it was to check and see if any of your family was on a Qatari "terrorist" list, or something like that.

I would guess that the requirement to list all relatives on the application is applied to ALL applicants to Qatar Airways. The reason most likely being that certain nationalities are known to lie about who their relatives are in order to get reduced rate travel for friends, perhaps making a few extra dollars for themselves in the process. If the full list of relatives is known in advance that makes it more difficult for employees from those certain countries to commit that kind of fraud.

How does it work if you are divorced, your children do not have passports, and they are not coming with you? Do you just leave that information blank?

Some questions that I cannot seem to find other places:

What is the compensation package like, and how does it differ between aircraft and/or seat?

How many vacation days per year?

Health insurance?

When you apply, do you apply for a specific aircraft and seat, like some other airlines, or just fill out the app and let them decide where to put you?

Thank you.

You will find a lot more information on Pprune.org. Do a research there. There are plenty of pilots working there that you can message and who will gladly answer any questions.
