Is a mammography included for example? Pre-existing conditions are probably not covered but what if kid has already braces, is ongoing treatment covered? What if kid hits his head or has a stomachache in the middle of the night (minor ailment) are those situations covered?

I assume the coverage is at EK's clinic; what is the waiting time one can expect at the clinic?

I know it's a lot of specifics and I DO appreciate your contributions.

Thank you in advance.
A family of 4 would pay just under $100/month for insurance.

No co-pays on office visits or anything like that.

Pre-existing conditions are not covered.

No drug costs for clinic prescribed medication in general. If you did have to pay for drugs they are significantly less expensive here than in the USA.

After hours emergency room visits are generally covered, some limitations that I really don't know the specifics of. I've been to the emergency room a number of times for myself and my son and never paid a penny.

Clinic is pretty good at getting pilots into see a doctor fairly quick. With family members it is less so. There is a rapid care clinic every day for emergency cases during office hours.

Quality of care varies based on the doctor. Some are really good, some not so good. Something you have to learn by trial and error.

My son broke his collar bone two years ago. My wife took him to the rapid care clinic and nurse said it was a bruise. I was on a trip, didn't get home until the next day. I took one look at it and knew exactly what it was. Back to the clinic and another doctor for the correct diagnosis.

Can an American citizen come to Dubai and buy real estate? Or are you limited to only renting/leasing.

What is the hourly pay for FOs and CAs?

Hourly rate is not very much. $12/hr for fo, and $15/hr for ca.

The question is, why would you even want to?

Why would you not want to buy property?

If the company allows you to take a cash option to find your own housing, they are buying you a house essentially, right. At the end of your service you sell the house, and you have just padded your retirement.

Because property in Dubai likely won't hold any value anyway.

"Because property in Dubai likely won't hold any value anyway."

What planet are you guy's on?

Seriously, all of the sudden there's a bunch of guy's here who, it is very apparent, have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to working as an ex-pat. . . anywhere. They don't know what the economies are like anywhere other than the good old USofA, and they either have no desire to find out, or they have been let down by not being selected and are bitter because they'll never find out for themselves.

Why even comment? I hate to flog a dead horse here but please take it back to pprune, or take up a hobby or something. Just take it off this board. And for cryin' out loud don't say "it's an open forum and I can comment anyway I like" because that's simply idiotic.
