Lufthansa hiring process for US pilot
So has anyone considered moving to Germany and trying for Lufthansa? My soon to be wife is from Bavaria and does not want to stay in the US. I am just wondering how my license would go about transferring and what kind of battle am I looking at?
Don't see anything on APC about it.

you can get the work right no problem as you are married to a German. Getting the license will be a pain as I had done it, and it took about 3 months. Your largest hurdle is to get hired. They usually take kids with no experience right out of highschool and train them in Bremen at their University. They also have a max age restriction. I believe it is 27. That's why no military trained guys are at Lufthansa. After they do their 8 year commitment, too old. Good luck

They do offer ready entry positions to pilots who have previous experience and fulfill the laundry list of criteria.

My Dad spent 14 years with LH on the 727 and 747 and he always says that speaking German isn't the hard part, it's the speaking fluently in technical German, that's hard. It's almost a different language.
Even if you meet all the requirements, you'll find it one of the most competitive things you've ever undertaken.

Thank you for the correction, I used to transport LTU and Lufthansa crews in position around the Caribbean in the mid 90's and this was the information that I was given, perhaps I misunderstood.

Might be easier to apply to FedEx and bid Cologne. Best of both worlds for you.

ja
Nie davon gehört, bis gestern, so dass keine
Needs improvement aber ja, langsam zu sprechen
Derzeit nicht, aber das ist erreichbar
Why are the minimum so low? 600tt and 300multi 2 crew tp/jet, and that includes either PIC or SIC? Sounds too good to be true. I meet everything medically speaking.
