Jetstar Japan
Anybody have any info on Jetstar Japan? It appears from their website, that they hire FO's without an ATP and type rating. From their website, their minimums are:
First Officer Positions
I went through their painstaking application process online and am just wondering if anyone has any additional info other than the above?
FWIW, I'm currently a EMB145 FO and have 2600 hours 121 but no 121 PIC and no types. I do have 1900 hours PIC from a 135 outfit which included Barons and Caravans but that isn't terribly impressive it seems in the expat flying market. I'm sick of waiting for the upgrade, it's been over 4 years at my current company and have decided to start looking elsewhere to try and move up the ladder. I have no strings and have no problem moving to one of these places, I just want to be sure about it before making the jump.
First Officer Positions
- Minimum 1,500 hours total time of which 500 hours may be helicopter time
- 500 hours PIC or First Officer on multi-engine aircraft; and
- 250 hours PIC of which 150 hours maybe ICUS
- Glass cockpit and multi-crew experience preferred

I don't have the ATP and don't really want to buy it. However, that said, I will spend the $1,500 to $2,000 and get it if necessary to get me the right job. I've really just started this search. I set myself up a spreadsheet with all the potential leads from this site and others.
I just went and looked and see that I couldn't be a FO as they require 20,000kg or 44,092lbs PIC time. I do the the Second Officer Fast Track listing but am just not sure how that works.
Do you think it would be money well spent to go ahead and buy the ATP?
