Bankrupcy is a tactic used by companies, and usually to the effect of screwing labor. I did read on the JAL filing, and I was impressed with the fact that the CEO took a smaller salary than usual, and rode the bus to work like many other employees.
My concern is that pilots who had to quit their jobs and start with JAL were let go without any apparent severene. Did they get severence?
Maybe severence is a thing we should all ask for. I seriously don't agree with anyone that says that I should leave since I don't seem to like it. I like flying and the airlines. I have been involved with unions for quite a while, and have been through a bankrupcy. I saw first hand what mangement greed did to people. Many lost their homes and retirements. This is not a small part of life. It is almost everything.

I find it interesting that you claim to have knowledge about this industry but all your post show an amazing lack of knowledge about it. You certainly don't have any knowledge about the international market, I would suggest you don't try giving people advice about something that it is evident to all you know very little about.

Hesitant, just stop. From your profile you have only flown a Cessna and have minimal experience and it shows, at least in the international domain. You really don't have a clue what you are talking about and your advice is not relevant here. There are no unions in the contract world. You have ample chance to read your contract before signing and it says specifically no severance. You can get a 90 day notice to leave. ALso keep in mind, this is not the norm what happened at JAL, and you keep missing that point. It's something to think about but it rarely does, but it does make a contract guy have to think about the financial viability of the company they are joining. Now go back to your "wannabe's" Forum.

APC is all about pilots helping pilots, but it doesn't work on people who just don't get it no matter how much you try.

We, however, already get your point (if you ever had one to begin with) which is nothing but flamebait, hypocrisy and plain ignorance. My advice to you is to sit back and read instead of continually posting your stupid "now I'm not being negative, but I read blah blah blah about blah blah blah and stay away from aviation and those PFT things and can anybody help me get a job at Eagle blah blah blah."
