A type rating is not required and there is no training bond. The people that I know there are captains, so don't quote me on FO pay. I have heard from them that around $1600 during training and somewhere around $4000 a month once online.

COPA will, require you to sign a contract that if you leave you have to pay back a prorated share of 18K I think it was.....my advice is when they hand out the contract....DO NOT SIGN It.....tell them you want to have your lawyer look at it and that NEVER ever sign it or hand it in. They want to point a gun to your head.....don't fall for it.

As far as the guy with no jet time.....they will never hire you. They can hire all the low time Panamanian kids they want, what they are desperate for is Captains with the 1000 PIC Jet time. Just they way it is....you would be better off at a USA regional anyway.

Your pay is off. And our your sure about NO Training contract? As of 2012 they still require it....but there are ways around it.

I had about 6-7K in my hand at the end of the month, in training I was making around 5K,,,,you get pay from day one..

This pay is very substandard for a 737NG capt.

Thanks a ton for the straight sincere answer. That is the impression I have.

Again, the information that I have on pay is third hand. The captains that I know said they have no contract. That could mean that they were presented with one and did not sign it, found another way around it or there never was one. I have personally spoke with an FO who is going through the immigration process at this time. From the US and has only 65 hours SIC in a turboprop.

The F/Os have to pay a lot of out of pocket costs before they are hired at COPA. I'm thinking around $2500.

However I believe they are running out of Panamainian kids and are looking at foreign FOs.

Here are the lie detector questions:
· Have you used drugs in the last 2 years
· Have you smuggled drugs
· Have you taken money for drug smuggling
· Have you laundered money
· Have you been investigated by aviation authorities
· Are you concealing information that could be embarrassing to Copa
· Do you abuse alcohol
· Have you lie to law enforcement during an investigation
· Did you use false certificates to obtain this interview

She did not mention either one in the email so I am going to assume that the terms remain the same.
