Hmmm...pilots who stay until 65 are selfish. Pilots who take early retirements and look for work are selfish.

It can't really be both. Make up your mind. If I were a young guy, I'd be applauding everyone who takes an early out.

I have nothing against those who take the job, and you are correct I hope they do and create some movement.
I assure you there will be plenty of qualified pilots applying.

I'd bet this advert is not really geared nor aimed at many US triple pilots, but rather those of us who are either in the Middle East or Asia wanting to get back to the US with the JFK base. There are quite a few now that they've been at places like Emirates, Etihad and Qatar and have gone from new hire to left seat in 3 short years.

At my middle east airline we have several 30 year old US 777 captains and a few mid 30 year old TRE's (check airmen designee's) as well.

A large number of US pilots left the US airline industry in the last decade and they're wanting to go back!!

What do you mean early retirement? I was sent packing at 56, my previous company had a retirement age of 65 but they shut down. What should I have done? Not gone to work so that somebody younger than me could have applied for the DEC vacancy in the Middle East? I am sorry, but I do need to make a living, see about my family and look out for myself when I stop flying.

BTW the package I have at Etihad is a lot better than Jet is offering, the only plus is JFK basing. I would take a pay cut to be at home but...they are known to promise the moon and deliver nothing. They need more credibility.

This may be for EY,but the wet lease they do for Turkish has them running all over looking for T7 drivers. One of the base options is IST.

Overall EY is pretty good at delivering what they promise. But if I'm lucky enough I'll be fortunate to get six weeks a year leave at home in the states with a day or two on both sides of the leave package to get back to base..Hence the strong interest in a commuting contract.

The first part is true, but of the 3 American TREs two are over age 60 and one is 48. There are a number of younger TREs from other nationalities, perhaps a few from our cousins to the north.

I wouldn't trust Jet EY, Air India did this same thing a few years back and it didn't last long.
