Looking for Citation Shares info.
Hey everyone,
I've been 'lurking' for a few months and really appreciate all the great info that everyone is spreading around!
I'm separating from the AF and am looking at fractionals due to the quality of life - it just seems like a perfect fit for me. I think I've done just about all I can do for now at NJ, but haven't made any headway with CS. One, because I just came off of a year w/out flying *OUCH* and don't meet the 200 hours previous year req and 2, I don't know anyone at CS. I'm going to the AirInc fair in LA this weekend and hope to talk to the recruiters - does anyone know how strict CS is with the 200 hour requirement? I imagine they're strict on it, which pretty much screws me.
Anyway, the other question I have is who is the best person to address my cover letter to for CS (and address/contact info)? I'd like to hand them a good package at AirInc if they're there and we'll see what happens. (Can't complete the online application due to the 200 hour rule)
Does anyone have any info/recommendations on other fractionals. I've sent my app in to NJ, but haven't heard back from them - and haven't done anything with any other fractionals. Any advice/help is greatly appreciated!

I can only speak from my experience, but here goes....
I do have a friend on the inside. He thought he might be able to get me in below one of the minimums....the 1500 hours ME. When speaking with them, I was told that they are not letting any of the minimums slide anymore. I wasn't blown off however. The conversation continued for about another 10 minutes after which I said I would call back when I was at mins (I predicted about 3 1/2 months then). I was asked to stay in touch and call back sooner just to chat. I'm still about three weeks away from hitting the ME time so I too have been surfing the boards for info. I read of one guy who got the interview with no recs and barely at all the mins, so not having a contact may not be a deal killer, but again, I'm not there so I cant say for sure. I do believe that they want to know that you really want the job. I would say go to the job fair, make contact, get some numbers and stay in touch. Any current CS guys please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any account......

I would agree about staying in touch. I sent my on line app as soon as I met the requirements and I went to a job fair to speak to them in person. I got the call but since I wasn't available to start working for them for many months, they said to keep in touch and call them when I got closer to my availability date. I did just as Bernard asked and I now have an interview soon. They have all been great so far. Can't wait to join the team.

Thanks.
Thanks for the info - Do you have a good contact name / address / phone number so I can get in touch with them and send a hard copy of my resume and cover letter. Since I don't meet the 200 hour min yet, I can't put in my app online, so I'd like to follow the advice and get touch and stay in touch till I meet the mins!
Good luck on the interview!

I don't know much about CS, but NetJets does look at your recency. If you've been out of the cockpit for more than 6 mos, you're going to have trouble.
I was pushing the 6 mos. line when I applied, so the first entry on my resume of my work history listed, "presently flying under part 91"...i.e. I was flying little general aviation airplanes. May not be great, but at least it is currency and it showed familiarity with part 91 flying.
I did get the job.
