The high extended day rate really cranks it up, but you are definitely working way more days for the money than at the airlines.
Live to work vs work to live. Since July '21 we have had too many of the former. The LOA signed last month fixed the 17-year HBA problem. It also reduced what little leverage we had to get an IBI sooner rather than later from the company. Making the VED/VAWD rate permanent plugs staffing holes for the company. It also makes after-midnights a non-event other than a potential Q-day. Long game vs short term. Sending the same people to the negotiating table for a fifth time doesn't give me high hopes either.

I’m a no vote if the offer includes an amendable date extension or signing bonus, or doesn’t include:
40-50% increases for everyone at DOS
FDP 0 (it’s never going away)
Road rest protections and “QOL” resolutions
More PTO and protections on the use of PTO
5th vacation week after 15 years
6/8 schedule

So I’m going to be a “no” vote. I should vote “yes” on anything with a signing bonus and enjoy my time until 1/10/24 but who am I kidding? With tweedle dee and tweedle dum negotiating we won’t have a TA by then anyway.

Any way best of luck, hope some of this info was helpful.
Thank you for your post on page 2. This post, ~4 years old, is amazing. As a recent student pilot, I appreciate the information. Just had to register to say - THANK YOU!

I finally got my logbook in order. Do most fractionals want to see five pounds of paper or will a PDF suffice?

I had my last 15 years in a three ring binder. They didn’t even look at it.

Had not done a paper (or any) log book since starting 121 since company tracked it all and did electronic summaries and month by month. Got a print out when I retired (early on COVID buyout) and my current employer took one look at my 25yr summary and said that’s all we need. Had several offers including another 121 who were fine with airline summary.

If you have a pulse and can fog a mirror, it’s likely you’ll get invited. That is a jab at NJ lowering their hiring minimums btw. We are still getting quality applicants despite being paid 60% of what Jet Blue pilots make while working 2x as hard. I don’t understand the new-hire logic coming here, but we need good folks who will fight for a better future at NJ.

Would you people who got the Covid buyout stop rubbing it in my face?! I tried. It would have been awesome—I turned 62 right after the window opened.

AA dug up 5 or 6 corpses and gave it to them. I can’t let it go!

Do any of these fractionals do part time? I just want to get back into flying but not with the schedules you guys do. I don't need any benefits, not doing it for the money, would be happy as a permanent FO. I know I wouldn't last long at 7 on 7 off.

Plane Sense does part time for Captains, after being on full time for about 5-6 months. If you are PSM or PDK base it is 7 on 21 off. All the other bases are 8 on 20 off.
