You can work on the side as long as you stay within the 135 time regs. As far as ending up in base its luck of the draw, but not often. In the 18 months I was there it happened once. If you live in PSM that's another story

No way you'll come close to the 1400hr mark for 135 flying for PSI and flying outside of the company unless your pencil is uber sharp....

They let you fly but per the FOM you must have it approved which involves sending the chiefs an email staying what you're doing etc. You'll get a "your request from external flying is approved per section xxx of manual xxx per the time reporting guidelines per section xxx of xxx manual." You cannot fly for another 135 is the only no no and cannot interfere with your duties at PSI. 61,91, whatever. Knock yourself out. The last thing you'll want to do when you're home is fly more, trust me. The last thing. That was me though. You might be different.

You are also require to report your time. Most don't but you're supposed to.

Exactly how much $ do first officer candidate receive during the initial training?

It may have changed since I went through, but we got $0 through ground school. When you pass the written you get a check for $500. Then about a week later when you finish the checkride you get $1000 and get put on the normal payroll. DECs got paid from day 1. Again some may have changed since 2017

Plane Sense just announced a trial of a 7 on 7 off schedule that will be for PSM PC-12 crews only. The week for these crews will start on a Monday. The 8 on 6 crews will continue to be a Tuesday or Wednesday start.

Remind them ..they flew 7/7 for years...not so sure why the TEST is needed.... scheduling isn't rocket science.

7/7 would be awesome. Does PlaneSense do an in-house pilot medical exam in addition to your usual FAA medical exam? I know some of the major airlines used to do that. Thanks.

Figured I'd get a "who has applied and heard anything" vein to this thread going. I applied for their advertised FO position 7/22. Shortly thereafter I received two auto-generated emails essentially they received my resume and are hiring for two upcoming classes; one early fall, one late fall.

Has anyone applied and heard anything further than what I've described? Previous gouge stated it was about a two week period between resume submission to receipt of an email to "officially apply."

Management says they will be losing 4 man days per month compared to a 8/6 schedule. The trial period is to see if the operation will be just as efficient.
