Varies, some cycles you go back to PSM and some you stay out for all 8. I found that this winter I spent the majority of my cycles gone down south for almost all 8 days. This summer has been a lot of 1-3 day trips hanging around the northeast, coming back to PSM, swapping planes and or crew and going back out a day or 2 later. That's just for me though.

First Post here,

I just received PlaneSense application pkg. I answered all their ?'s and sent it out today.
I have 3800 Multi PIC, 5700 total PIC, 0 turbine time, 1500 CFII, Lots a part 135 exp.

Assuming I did good on the app, any idea how long I might get a call.

Any good technical interview gouge they ask?

Think my chances are good?

I want to fly for them and be based in MCO.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

I would be very interested in doing this kind of flying as I wind down my career over the next 6 years. Does anybody think that they will have any direct entry positions in MCO in the future?

Karyon - I can't help you out much on interview gouge, it's been a long time since I interviewed. I think you have a very good chance. You might have to sit in the right seat for a little bit (don't quote me but I think street captain hiring is PSM only right now), but I'd be surprised if you didn't get a call with that experience.

Maxjet - By direct entry, do you mean direct entry captains? I'm pretty sure street captain hiring is PSM only right now. You never know what could happen, but if my crystal ball is correct, if you want the MCO base, you would probably have to sit in the right seat for a little while. Things could change depending on company needs though especially 3-4 years down the line when the jet comes on board.

So, anyone received a call after submitting the app/questionarre? If so, how long did it take to hear back?

Anyone know what the vacation / 401k is per year. How is PSM stacked for FO's? Upgrade time for CPT seems based off of merit. Are all the FO's 22 yr old instructors?

PM if need be .

Cheers.

Vacation is 1 cycle (8 days) off per year, after your first year. After 6 years, 2 cycles off, then I think at 15 years or so you get 3 cycles off. 401k match is very very small, I can't remember what it is right now though. Majority of pilots by far are in PSM. Some FO's are young ex-instructor types, but it's actually really varied as far as age/experience level goes.

Just got the questionnaire packet by email. I too am looking to based out of MCO. The email says that you must live within 100 miles of one of their bases, MCO included.

Does that mean you can pick where you live as long as it's near one of the listed bases?

Hey guys, I'm about to send in an app... I was wondering though, who should I address my cover letter to? Also, My family has a house in Jacksonville, FL (where I currently live) and also property in Atlanta (where I could easily relocate to). Would it be feasible to be based at MCO and live in Jacksonville? Its only about a 2.5 hour drive and I used to make the drive occasionally when I was flying contract work out of MCO. I would prefer this to relocating but I'm willing if I have to. Thanks!
