Anbody know if they work you the max flight hours per month or year per 135?
The reason I ask is because I wonder if I can do any commercial flying at all on the 6 off days?
Not that I'll probably feel like being away from home more than 8 days at a time but I need to find a way to build some multi time without paying for it. It doesn't have to be a lot, just a little here and there would be nice.
Has anybody here built any multi time on the side while working for PS ?
Also I'd like to know how much flight time per year you get and about how much instrument time per year?
And typical upgrade time? (I know it's merit based)
Thanks.

You can do "outside flying" but you have to get approval from the chief pilot. But you won't be approved to fly the Pilatus, as that would present a conflict of interest. A lot of guys do stuff on the side, from what I understand. One of our instructors picked up a ton of extra days last year and he got 700. I would think you could expect ~ 450 per year. They fly in real weather, icing conditions, low via takeoffs. It is impossible to reliably predict IMC time. Like you said, upgrade is based on merit and your previous experience when you get here. You can expect to be ready to upgrade within about a year. You will need 1500 hours. They look at how well you do your job as an FO.

It's tough to fly the max amount per month in only 16-17 days of duty. Average is about 50/month.
I know of two folks in the past who worked for my old company flying King airs/twin Cessnas on their off days. Just need CP approval. I was going to do the same, but I'd rather just be at home on my 6 days off.
About 550-600 per year is average.
Typical upgrade time is based on merit. 1500 hrs min. If you're an FO after 2 years, you're doing it wrong.
