Here we have an OP who is dictating his personal limits on duties required at a job he hasn't even been hired into after having a glorious 23 year military career and a 25 year 121 career. Compare that to a guy who spent nearly 7 years as a POW and still willing to perform ALL the duties his position at NetJets required. I am not alone in who I would rather work with.

Being a POW does get you prepared to work for NJA, I will give you that.

I'm not some prima Donna a121 Captaint at all and don't mind wiping down tray tables , vacuuming and re-stocking the snacks but I will draw the line at cleaning the lav'sl. After a phenomenal 23 year military career and a 25 year airline career I simply will not clean someones fee's off of a toilet bowl.

Please tell.me this is not required on "Heavy" part 135 fractionals? with Flight Attendant?

Thanks!
Job is not for you! Take your 2 "phenominal" careers and call it a rest. You would be toxic, as many are, who retire from airlines (and/or military) and then think the job they applied for is below them. And yes, you are a prima donna captain, retire at 65 and be glad you didnt have to clean a lav.....From a career 135 guy who has cleaned many lavs and have walked a honey pot or two thru the cabin I would appreciate never working with you. And no, its not just the FOs of FAs that do it, its a team enviornment, if you are not willing to do it, please dont take the job, if you cant live on 2 pensions , 135/91k flying is not for you! I do it because I love it and there is no better job. Wiping down a toilet seat and all......

I had lunch with Jerry down in training. Riding the bus back to the hotel and we were both going to grab a bite so we went across the street from the Holiday Inn on Collins Ave (for the long time AA'er's). Nice guy. I asked about his military time and he asked when I went through survivial school. It was well after his CC tour there. Me - "how'd you get that assignment?" "Previous experience...." ah....

The OP is why so many corporate flight departments are reluctant to hire former airline pilots. Not everyone is like him, but enough are that its just easier not to have to deal with it.

I hear Wal-Mart greeter position is hiring...

Since the OP has no courage to respond, I'm pretty sure he is trolling...

talk about giving a bad name to two different groups in one fell swoop. Back to the lawn chair to yell at kids on the lawn.

thats pretty cool that you all had Jerry Driscoll on the team. The ones who set the best examples are the most humble.

Wiping the tables and toilet seat is part of the job. After kids, dried pee is nothing. Obviously you weren't doctor material.

Military at 18-20? Plus 23 years, plus 25 years. Sounds like you're 65. Father time has made the factional decision for you. Not sure about Flex or the small operators but NJA hasn't had great luck with older pilots. Historically almost all either fail or quit, so they shy away from that group.

You don't want to get a job and fail out because you didn't know when to hang it up. That will ruin your memory of a successful career. Don't be Michael Jordan. Leave the party on a high note.

ANG or Reserves overlap. My 9 year ANG career overlapped 46 yr civilian career. Total was only 46 yrs, and not 55 years, because two counters were running at the same time.

Historically most operators also have young FO's quit or fail also. Some ex-airline guys will fly forever, some for awhile, and some do the '1 and done' cycle.* Everyone keeps moving on, to some extent, until they get to their destination job. Flown with a couple of ex fractonal CA's who had quit once a Big 3 major called.

*- current job had just implemented part-time flying, on a trial basis, when the jets were sold. Plenty of the ex-airline guys, especially 'one and done' guys, would have stayed if PT was available. FT was just "too much." Hard to do much retirement stuff with an 8/6 or 7/7 schedule.

Cleaning lavs isn’t the half of it. Many of the lower tier part 135 operators also require you wipe elderly passenger’s butts and change baby’s diapers. All part of that $75k FO salary.
