Alpha Flying

I've only worked for one company and have only 2000 hours, but from my limited experience I'd say do not make decisions based on what any company says they are planning to do next year.
I'd say keep monitoring progress and when they have the airplanes and slots you want then apply.

Did they describe the merit criteria? I'm curious b/c merit based promotion sounded great to me - "better" pilots progress faster and further - but I've seen the concept trashed on other fora here for various reasons. All of those reasons seem to lead back to no one clearly defining "merit".

7/7 Confirmed
Wish I was closer to my career change and a few hundred hours further along, PSM is 40 minutes from my front door.

PORTSMOUTH — Alpha Flying, Inc. recently announced the implementation of a new pilot schedule: seven days on, seven days off. This transition is scheduled to be in effect in April. Currently our pilot schedule is six days on, four days off. This plan will allow our pilots more flexibility with their schedules and enable a better quality of life. Alpha Flying, Inc. is one of the largest fractional operators in North America, currently operating 30 Pilatus PC-12 aircraft with 96 pilots, and it has been in operation for over 11 years. The company primarily services the United States east of the Mississippi, Canada, and the Bahamas, with a large volume of flights occurring in the southeastern states. In the last year alone, the company has grown significantly, hiring 45 pilots, 24 mechanics and 23 schedulers.

I jest of course, but attrition is getting pretty bad around there.

Can someone share what the principal reasons for this attrition have been? Yeah, the pay is lower than any other fractional but I doubt a PC12 driver would expect to be paid the same as a Citation X driver - right? Is it a pay issue or is it something else? Please share.

They have been in PSM since October for the pilots and MX. The corporate offices are still in Londonderry. I forget when they said they were moving everything over. I assume it will be when the next hangar gets built.
Yes, I left towards the end of last year. It was a good time, but the benefits of leaving outweighed the benefits of staying.
