Yes, they will hire people who are willing to relocate. I believe that you just have to be in place by the time you are on line.

When it's time to upgrade, do you start on year 1 captain pay? Or do you start on the salary of the current year you're on with the company? ex. year 3 fo upgrades to captain and now gets year 3 capt pay.

You maintain longevity. A 3 year FO who upgrades goes to 4th year Captan pay.

Will they let you pick your gateway? I live in DFW and they have posted openings here.

2nd year FO pay; yes, the pay was bumped from 37k to 42k. No, people were not leaving. It was a function of upgrade times going up and a way to help offset that.

Recent time requirements; not sure what to say here. Lots of companies have that requirement. You just hear about Avantairs requirement because we're actually hiring now while the others... well... ain't.

thanks for clearing that up Glass. Miss information on my side. How many pilots will they pick up this year and next...just a rough guess?

If the Gateway is open when you get called for the interview then its yours! DFW will almost always be open due to its central location.

As for how many people we hire over the rest of the year. Your guess is as good as mine. It all depends if we take all the airplanes as scheduled and how many people leave.

Well here's a little update worth noting:

I spoke with those in the know and it turns out the 250 hour recent time requirement was posted in error. If you go to the site now it says:

Minimums requirements:

* 2500 Total Time
* 1000 Multi-engine
* 250 Instruments
* 150 multi engine turbine
* A Type Rating and/or Part 135/121 PIC Qualification Event
* Recency commensurate with experience
* Airline Transport Pilot
* First Class Medical
* Current Passport
* FCC Restricted Radio/Telephone Permit

They said they know guys are having a tough time with recent experience right now. Hope it helps and good luck to all.

Has the policy changed recently? I know on another thread it was mentioned that you could "commute" (drive) to your domicile if you didn't live within 2 hours of one (or did I read that correctly?).

The application process now leads one to believe that you must be willing to move to within 2 hours of a domicile. (I live 3 hours from two different domiciles).

Were (are) KSDF or KCVG ever domiciles? I'm 1 hr from those.

thanks

Impressive in my opinion. Taking into account the times that professional pilots are finding themselves in and adjusting accordingly. Bravo Avantair.
