THANKS FOR THE UPDATE!! Looks as if everyone will have to re-submit their resumes during those dates.
How many are they looking for? I know 9 airplanes will be delivered this year. Is it true that they need (per airplane) 10 pilots? So then they would eventually need 90 new pilots for this year......right?
Another question:
is KPBI still an Avantair Gateway?
Thanks,

After being retired for 4.5 months now - my yearly total has fallen to just above 200 hrs in the past 12 months - so I wouldn't be eligible I guess unless they were willing to waive some requirement, and in today's environment I have serious doubts about whether they would have a need too with so many experienced pilots looking for jobs.

That recency of flying rule I disagree with. When guys come through my training center for recurrent or even initials, and sometimes haven't touched an airplane in YEARS usually start doing just fine on the 2nd day of training. Just another way to keep the number of resumes down I guess.

Hi!
In the past, some places have been 400 in past 12 mos, XXX in past 6 mos, XXX in past 3 mos....all different types of requirements. Sucks if you're in a low-time position, like being laid off!

Its a bull**** requirement. I was out of aviation for 13 years.. didnt touch a plane. Essentially walked right into a 121 program run by FSI on the E170 and had zero problems flying the jet. Flew my first landing in the aircraft into ORD near mins with blowing snow. I suspect for most guys or gals its like riding a bike you just have to get back on and ride.

Lots of stuff here:
Staffing; Avantair doesn't staff our planes anywhere near 10 pilots per plane. NetJets is around 5 per plane and we are well under that.
2nd year FO pay; yes, the pay was bumped from 37k to 42k. No, people were not leaving. It was a function of upgrade times going up and a way to help offset that.
Recent time requirements; not sure what to say here. Lots of companies have that requirement. You just hear about Avantairs requirement because we're actually hiring now while the others... well... ain't.

I know avantair requires you to live within a two-hour drive of one of their gateways. If you currently don't live near one of those areas will they agree to hiring someone willing to relocate to one of those areas?
