You're looking at this all wrong. Money isn't as far off as you might think between the two and nothing can touch NJA QOL and stability. But this is just my opinion. I would not like doing the pax airline gig for many reasons. You might like it, though.

I'd rather not fly 737s for the rest of my career. I prefer variety to routine - some people prefer to the opposite. Give me great pay, 100 domiciles, advanced aircraft like the Citation X or Sovereign, unlimited route variety and a fixed schedule and I'll be happy...
Southwest would pay well and be relatively stable but I would get tired of the same old routes over and over and the 4-6 sectors per day (on average). Sure, you can fly 4-6 sectors per day at Netjets but at least you get some variety.

Wow, really good question. I pose this question all the time, but I'll also add in the mix UPS and FedEx.
One of my buddies from Southwest said he made 6 figures in year 2. That's pretty damn good. And we all know that those other guys flying packages make some great bank.
I don't have any idea what I would choose. Right now, I'm at NetJets. Hopefully will retire from there. But if I was faced with job offers from one of the above companies, what would I do now??? Don't know, but I know it would be a pleasure to be facing such a predicament (spell????).

Very good question. I am faced with a very similar choice--SWA or NJI. I'm in the pool for both. I don't know what I'd do if each called for the same training date. While it's a nice problem to have, I hate the idea of having to turn one down.
737 or Gulfstream--I'd be happy flying either for the rest of my career.

I really would like someone to tell me the “history” of fractional flying. In other words, is netjets the longest running fractional out there?
If not, then who has lasted longer and why or when did they vanish, if they are vanished?
The reason I ask is that if netjets is the longest running fractional out there, then all you have to do is look at their record as far as furloughs are concerned and it speaks for itself.
Sure this industry is all a crapshoot, however, within that crapshoot, wouldn’t you like to maximize your chances of “winning” when you roll the dice?
No job in any field you can think of is guaranteed, but the history of a company you want to work for should tell you a whole lot or even give you an idea of where things are and might be headed.

Short history as I see it.
High class, big dollar folks, used to fly first class on the Legacies. After 9/11, with all the TSA BS and the understandable decline in "customer service" at the Legacies, I think your big dollar, high class, folks started to look for a better option.
Out popped the Fracs. Kind of like owning your own Learjet but not as expensive.
Personally, I don't see the Fracs going away as it's a good deal for those who want to pay for it.
