I agree. With the cost and hassle of airlines these days, I think that fractionals are actually in their infancy. I think more and more businesses will use fractionals instead of having their own fleet of jets while high end flyers will choose fractionals over first class.

Of course, that's just my opinion...

I would go with Netjets. I have nothing against SWA, but I would be able to live where I am now with no commute, as opposed to 3 hours for a SWA hub if I was lucky.

737 or Gulfstream--I'd be happy flying either for the rest of my career.
Damn dude, you're in the pool for both, that's a hell of a problem- NJI or SW?? I'm sure there's about 15,000 regional kids that would love to have that problem.

I don't know what I would if I was in your situation......at SW I would be the highest paid airline pilot in the country and 3rd overall (UPS/FDX). But that type of flying does not appeal to me at all. I don't have a problem flying the same aircraft (737) for the rest of my life, I'd have a problem flying the same routes over, and over and over. Don't know what I would do......

Well, I tried posting another one like this in both of the carriers' respective forums, and one got deleted. So I only posted it here, but I do agree it could be a bit biased.

While this is all true, IMO, NJA is nothing new. It started at Executive Jet back in 1964 as a charter and aircraft management company. But the fractional idea didn't come until '86. I think the recent explosion could be partially attributed to 9/11 but they've been around for a while.

Not picking on you here because this happens fairly often. Please do not post the same question/topic in multiple forums. Pick one forum and ask away. We can always move it for you if you posted in the wrong forum. Thanks!

Not really, the explosive growth happened prior to 9/11 (98-00). There was a "slight" spike in interest (from owners) after 9/11, but it soon returned to normal growth. The only spike I've seen lately is in the interest of airline pilots looking toward this side of the industry.

DB, cut the boy some slack. Some questions really belong in more than one forum. I think this is one of those. He needs input from both fractional and airline (SWA) people. Generally, The two groups reside at different forums. MHO

Agreed. I have a copy of flying magazine from september 2001 (printed days before 9/11) and on the cover is a NJ C750, the cover story being about how the fractional world has been rapidly growing and about how they are hurting for pilots.
