AF liked the versatility of the Grob Jet (could land on grass strips, etc.) and the common cockpit with the PC12 NG. Not sure that the Mustang provides what AF wanted in either case. I think the Mustang uses the Garmin 1000.

What avionics are in the PC-12's that AF is flying now ? Is the NG the only glass PC-12?

I've heard some of the things Mason writes about from others that worked there also. Latest I heard was the company was trying to get all the pilots to work two days for free to help out the company. I do know they had a hell of a turnover problem last year before the slowdown. Not many places that are "great" places run into issues like that. Oh, and the pay is pretty bad for northeast U.S.

Mr. I.

I never said it wasn't a good flying job, and I'm sure many people do like it. One of the four I knew was with them since they started with the Pilatus and he recently left saying the place has changed alot since he first started... so, unless your six friends have been there since day one, (and day one was not with Pilatus aircraft) then they haven't been there long enough to know how the company was. It may still be fine, but it is nothing compared to how it used to be.

BS. One of the four that I know that left did exactly what I described... refused to do a 3AM repo because he wasn't rested enough to be safe. He sat as an FO for another two years while people well junior to him were made captains... and he wasn't the only person they did this to, he's just the one I know personally that this happened to, and the guy is a very sharp pilot, mild mannered and easy to get along with.... so, if that isn't a case of retribution and bypassing for lack of butt-kissing than what is? Another kid left and came to my airline and he has similar things to say about how they have changed.

You need to recheck your facts.

I remember plane sense (Alpha) when they were leasing Barons, back in the 80's, from people I knew for on demand use.... how long have you known them?

Grob filed for Insolvency (European version of Bankruptcy)

Guess that carrot of Grob jets won't be happening anytime soon....
Thay have been spouting this same line to people for over five years.

Hardly new news. Word from NBAA is that a new financial deal is in the works.

I said the rumor is a new financial deal is in the works with Grob, not Fractional.

It would be too bad if the Grob Jet did not come to fruition after all of the development efforts - I believe 4 test airplanes have flown thus far. It seemed tailor made for Alpha Flying and their short-runway requirements. Perhaps they will get some financing deal like some of the other small manufacturers. So close but yet so far...

I'll take that back. IT was only 9:13 PM when I posted that. Must have been real tired. Sorry. FINANCIAL got it. I've been hearing that word so much lately...
