Ref the ATP-you can get it in a Cessna 172. It's much cheaper that way, and it's the same liscence. Nobody at my airline even noticed that my ATP was for single engine until I upgraded to Capt. on the 737 and the check captain wasn't sure how to fill out the paperwork.

Hey, just throwing in my 2 cents. I was in the very same boat not long ago. Check out Accessible Aviation down in Mississippi. It's about $500 less than AllATPs, and it includes the examiner's fee and lodging; so all told, at least $800 - $900 less. 2-3 training flights (they'll even pick up the tab on another extra training flight, if you need it), and check ride all done in a Seneca. It has a glass EHSI too, which helped me after not having flown anything pure steam-gauged in over 6 years. They've used the same examiner for years; the checkride was cake. You know EXACTLY what's gonna happen on it.
