The pay and benefits page comparison of CA to FO pay is a definite wake up call!

The one thing that it doesn't show is the average top pay of all the recently negotiated contracts. For Captains it's around $253/hr, and for FOs it's around $173/hr.

Yes that would be an good graph to show pattern bargaining in the last few years. We (and Spirit) drag the entire industry average down.

So when we shoot for industry average is that before or after we remove our old rate from the average?:rolleyes:

We're shooting for industry standard, not industry average. The new standard is the average of recently negotiated pay/benefit items; that's pattern bargaining. You don't get to include the old contracts that are past or near their amendable date in determining the new standard. Management agrees with this concept, but only when it suites them (i.e. when an economic downturn hits and airlines begin asking for major concessions to stem further losses).
