Also, keep in mind that most day turn lines go very senior.

And don’t forget if you’re commuting or Dead Heading you’ll have to pay for your water, sodas and snacks now.

From the latest open enrollment memo
“Snacks and beverages onboard our aircraft are only for purchase- they are not free.
Onboard catering items must be paid for and purchased when traveling, whether on
company business, leisure travel or while commuting. Please do not place our fellow
team members in an uncomfortable situation by asking for these items or accepting
them when offered for free.”

Come to think of it, I have heard that before. But, everytime I'm riding Space A or JSing, I've almost always been offered a bottle of water at least.

Sometimes it amazes me still how cheap of an airline we are designed to be....

We wouldn’t want to hurt their millions in bonuses now would we? Especially in these tough economic conditions.

Asking for a friend without an acct- serious question

How easy is it for junior hard line holders (not relief) to drop their crappy trips and get higher paying or non redeye trips?

Is it possible to drop/trade as a relief line holder? Is it easier to drop/trade trips as a hard line holder or relief line holder?

There are multiple ways to drop/swap trips. As a hard line holder you may participate in monthly open time DROP and monthly open time SWAP. Both are seniority based and as a junior pilot I had very poor luck with both.

Open for all line holders (including relief) is Daily Open Time. This is first come first served. While it is possible to swap into better trips in daily, you have to be fast. You can set up alerts through our bidding software so if a trip shows up that meets your desired parameters, you get notified via email or text. The good trips disappear within 90 seconds of showing up in open time.
