To add to the above post, your ability to trade/drop will depend on your base as well. In den, you will have better luck bc of the size of the base and thus more open time generally. Smaller bases like ORD or LAS, it can be more difficult

Thanks for the info I’ll pass it along.
He’s Denver based right now. So why do senior people bid relief lines before the last few crappy hard lines, in Denver do they think they’ll get better trips via a relief line than they would getting the last few hard lines and having to drop/trade the entire line?

Theoretically shouldn’t you be able to get the last hard line with crappy trips, then drop them all and pick up other trips or not pick up anything until daily? And then they would make the relief lines out of all the crappy redeye trips?

In my experience people generally bid relief lines over hard lines for various reasons like training (because the training will be n your schedule before you bid for a line so you can bid the line that has the most conflict with your schedule), vacation (hoping to drop more via relief than hard line), or just hoping for better trips.

In monthly you're lucky to get just one trip swap approved. In daily if your request is in right at 09:00:01 local time on the 28th you'll get your request. Wait until 09:00:30 and you've likely missed that opportunity. No I'm not exaggerating. So again, in daily you typically get 1 good trip (unless you get lucky later).

What about just straight dropping trips?

Depends on seat/base. In general we're fat on FOs and thin on CAs so FOs can usually drop while CAs usually can't.

HEY SPAAKS, I call BS on your posting. Why doesn’t your friend just ask his fellow pilots these questions?? Besides, If your friend is already here at F9, they would already know the answers to your questions. If you are wanting to come to Frontier, become educated by just asking the questions for yourself. I would advise doing your research to fully understand what your getting yourself into by coming to our airline.
Seriously!!

Because the only people he knows are other junior Fo’s from his class on rsv that don’t know the answers either. Or captains he flies with once that don’t know. I’m helping him out becuse you can’t start an account here with a gmail email address.

I agree with you though, I personally wouldn’t go to any airline without doing my research and knowing what I would be getting myself in to. I’d be saving up 3 months worth of personal expenses to prepare for a strike if I were y’all
