I hope y’all get a contract before any economic hiccup or indigo is gonna try to start the negotiations all over again me thinks

Tell your friend that he can pick up a phone and call somebody in the union and not have his friend do it on APC. To be more specific call somebody on the scheduling committee. He does have a phone right?

MCDUie 01-15-2018 06:54 AM

If he’s junior and on first year pay he probably can’t afford a phone

The scheduling thread on APC is exactly the place to get a quick answer, apc is a place where pilots should be able to come ask legitimate questions, no? Is it that much to ask to ask a few legitimate qol questions? Most of APC is hot garbage, this shouldn’t be bothering anyone

Well, yes and no.

APC is generally for those OUTSIDE of the actual company to gather info they can’t get not being an employee. If your friend truly does work here, he/she has more than enough resources to chose from that are much better and more specific to the subject.

As you mentioned, most of this is hot garbage. Why wade through it for him? Your friend must be a great guy/gal for you to volunteer. Hats off to you as well for being so generous with your time. I wish I had friends that would go online, create an account since I’m not willing/able to create my own (because of a supposed free account issue) and brave a pilot group that’s on edge because of contract negotiations and ask a question that I could probably find out for myself if I took 10 minutes and looked at the ALPA website or if I bothered to remember what was told to me during indoc...

Perhaps, a better question might have been where should a newly hired FO look to for answers to specific questions about the contract, scheduling , etc? He would have been told to contact a scheduling or peer to peer committee member and could’ve gone from there.

FYI I recently opened my account on here with a @gmail address. I do remember that it wouldn't allow a free account email years ago. Evidently that has changed.

Good to know thanks. Hey, we all get bored on overnights.

I sure hope the new codeshare agreement doesn’t turn ugly for you! Does your contract allow for Frontier “operated by Volaris” (ala a regional type deal)

Hey guys/gals how long does it take for a new hire to get MCO?
Is it getting more senior?
Thank you!

The last award was right around a years wait but it’ll be longer for someone today unless they expand Orlando.

Its gonna take you at least year most likely longer and you'll be on reserve for a year or two as well. I am truly sorry that you are in a position to even consider this place. The general feeling from just about every pilot here is dicontented hope, with an underlying spark of pure bewildered pessimism. Most every pilot hired in the last three years, myself included, is begging to be hired elsewhere. I guarantee you will come to regret it! If you ask any pilot here right now, and they are truly honest, they wish they had not had to come here. 100% of our pilot group voted 100% to allow a strike when released!!!! 100%!!! That is not a disgruntled pilot group, that's a mutiny! 100% voted to walk over not one issue, but MANY!!!! We are not going to solve all of that with this contract. So the general feeling is going to still be an offput pilot group counting the days till the next amendable date. You really want to join that?! I would guess 65% would leave tomorrow even if our new contract ever comes to fruition. Now we are code sharing with Volaris which limits our growth possibilities in Mexico at the very least. I used the analogy of a sex partner before in a different thread but it is so appropriate to the situation I'm gonna use it again. Everyone here has partnered with Frontier, and we all have cotracted some sort of STD from the experience. How hard up are you that even though we warned you it would happen, you would hook up here too? You don't have to listen to us, but when you wake up one morning and it burns when you pee and the pain and itching becomes unbearable and the sores start to show up, you'll be on APC saying whatever you do, don't get into bed with Frontier! Oh yeah, it's gonna cost you a lot of money too!

100% READY TO STRIKE
