I've read on a few other threads that there has been an increase in the rate of those washing out of training. Any insight as to what the issue(s) seems to be, or what background these folks have? Just curious as to what folks can do to better to prepare for training and be successful. I only ask as I have been invited to interview, but my entire background has been Pt 91 corporate.

But not if they changed the training program to bare bones minimums. It could be overwhelming to someone without 121 experience. Just my 2 cents. Be careful as a 121 training failure could be a career killer.

"Career killer"? A bit dramatic, don't you think? I know plenty of people who have successfully continued to other 121 jobs with 121 busts. Multiple 121 busts? Absolutely. One? I disagree.
Just study, cooperate and graduate. Politics/contract/morale aside, the pilots still treat each other pretty well. Good place to work from that end of things.

"IF" they changed...the Training Department is probably the strongest part of the airline right now. Consistent, and they do want you to pass. With that said, I don't think they're going to hold your hand past a certain point, and several have passed that point in recent history, from what I understand.

So a CRJ guy couldn’t figure it out? I would have figured that if a person can fly a CRJ, then they should be able to fly an Airbus. All I’ve every known is Citations (Ultra/XL/XLS+), which are all easy to learn. Wonder how learning the A320 would compare when it comes to learning systems and avionics.

Washout rates have steadily increased since I was hired last year. None in my class but the next class had 2 out of 14 washout. Subsequent classes had a similar washout rate. I don’t know the background on the few that washed out. What I do know is you better come prepared.
