Default Who cares about the NMB?

Please do not let the fact that the NMB will not release us to strike influence your vote.

Who cares about the NMB? We don’t need them right now.

Why don’t we need the NMB? We can all agree that, whatever the reason, the company wants an agreement. There exists some form of economic motivation that has brought Indigo to the table. These forces seem unlikely to change in the near future. That, gentlemen, equals leverage.

Please implore your co-workers on the line to ONLY vote on the merits of this contract. Don’t let the “what if’s?” influence your vote. Foresight is not 20/20. Like dealing with an issue in the jet, let’s make the best possible decision, yes or no, based on the information available to us at the time.

None of us know what the economy is going to do, we don’t know when or if another 9/11 will happen, we can’t gauge the price of crude! If anyone of us had a clue, this contract would be the last of our worries as we sipped champagne on our own private jets.

If this thing is a turd—VOTE IT DOWN!

If it betters the collective whole— VOTE IT IN AND ENJOY LIFE.

Either way, vote on the merits of the article itself.

But... but... what about taking family vacations and saving for my unborn daughter’s wedding? Oh yeah, I do those things anyway.

Our ability to strike is a big deal, pretending that it doesn't matter is delusional.

The ability to strike IS a big deal. You are correct.

The inability to be released right now by the NMB is not a reason to accept a subpar contract. Other leverage exists.

I'm confused, how are those not the exact same thing?

We will not be released ever by the people that currently make up the NMB. Maybe they will be changed three to seven years from now.

Your premise is that it doesn't matter. I think it is a huge problem. It's like going battle without a gun, maybe we have a grenade or two, but we definitely are missing a key component of our arsenal and we are less effective.

Such as? If you're thinking you can actually organize something large enough to cause enough problems to F9 to get them to come back with meaningful changes you're delusional. The NMB is a big deal like it or not. I would honestly like to hear your other options though. I'm serious not being sarcastic

How do you know that we have to organize anything, such as you're suggesting? What's your argument that makes you certain they wouldn't make meaningful changes?

What finally brought them to the table for this 1st real* offer?

You would have to.
What brought them to the table finally with something meaningful? My educated guess is that they need a long term known cost for the pilot group for some sort of large purchase or you guys are for sale. If that is the case you are probably looking at something that is close to the best you will see. Don't take these comments as I don't think you guys deserve more. You do. Will you get it? No, because it will be voted in 70-65 / 30-35 % and because as said by others, the NMB views you guys in the same class as Spirit and won't put the kind of pressure on the company that they would to DAL or AA sadly. Fair? No. Reality? Yes.

Thanks for your reply and I don't take your posts negatively in any way. I do want to know why you feel any of the myriad of reasons for cost-quantification will correlate to this being the ~ best we can get, regarding future negotiations, should we set this stinking bag on fire, leave it on the porch, and run.
