Default Positives and Negatives

I have been leaning pretty strongly no since the email came out. I’m still leaning no, but want to hear the good, bad, and ugly that anyone finds in this thing. I’d like to see this thread stay strictly on the merits (good and bad) of the TA without a bunch of infighting if possible. Here’s what I’ve got so far.

Good...
• Block or better LEG by LEG
• Displaced for OE = full pay, no AVA
• No JA
• Taxi/Engine run up pays .3 or actual above guarantee
• Training Pay is 4.5 hrs a day
• Sick day makeup still allowed
• Vacation accrues faster than most airlines
• Management Pilots must displace to fly (no open time pickups allowed)
• Company provides hotel if cancellation in base (except for RSV)
• Reserves are allowed (not forced) to sit RSV out of base (great for commuters)
• Reserves allowed to commute in at beginning of RSV day
• Captains may voluntarily downgrade

Bad...
• Prudent judgement (commuter) policy still too restrictive (in my opinion)
• No penalty for canceling vacations
• Company my bypass new upgrades
• Pilots can be TDY involuntarily
• Up to 10% of pairings can be withheld for OE
• Pay below industry average
• Retirement is below industry standard
• Indigo can still whipsaw us against another group if they buy a majority share in another US airline
• Trips dropped for training in 2019 unpaid
• PBS
• Being required to have a cell phone and the potential for discipline if unable to respond to company attempts to notify pilot
• Non seniority pilots can still fly maintenance and delivery flights

This is good if I'm understanding it correctly:

pg 25.16 A Duty Period that spans midnight shall be counted as an open Duty Period only in the Calendar Day in which it begins.

currently our drop grid gets clogged up with redeye turns touching two days.

What is industry-standard regarding transition conflict pay? New TA still makes it the pilots responsibility to earn back any pay credits lost.

Well there won't be a transition conflict once PBS starts. Still good question.

That’s only temporary until PBS is implemented. No conflicts with PBS.

There’s still JA! They’re just calling it reassignment now. And the notification can come via ACARS or a phone message?

We didn’t even clean up the reassignment language for cancellations. You still have to call in the day prior? Wow..... and for crap pay.

Um...no. Same language as current book except they added notification via electronic notification system in addition to positive telephone contact.
