If you’re making career decisions based on non rev benefits then I’m not sure I trust you in a cockpit at all. And no the regionals aren’t paying more.

Wow, this is an interesting take. I turned down the regionals (and a couple of Majors) for Frontier because I have a friend that flies for them and loves it. I also love the convenience and price of Frontier if I have to pay for a commute prior to my final base of choice. Finally, how could you not LOVE the opportunity to fly brand new Airbus jets and a rather quick map to an upgrade.
I guess the priorities lie with the individual. I’m stoked at the opportunity to fly for Frontier.

Cmon man!! It’s a de-facto flow to the legacies!!🤣

I’m half serious actually.

-Base locations
-a growing company with a massive growth plan
-one of top 5 newest fleets in the world
-good crews
-soon to be less than 2 year upgrade
-never used non rev benefits because why? I make enough to buy a ticket with my pay that is…
-…better than regionals
-a new contract on the horizon that will further increase the pay above regionals
- as earthbound just mentioned we are basically a guaranteed interview with all legacies

Just how little do you think F9 pilots make? Just trying to gauge how uninformed you truly are.

I love when people compare us to regionals.... I have flown with a lot of CAs who haven't made less than 300k a year after upgrading. Home most nights, 16+ days off. I am not too sure where the whole, flying an RJ with mostly 3-4 day trips, 4-5 leg days a week making 180/hr as a CA is better.

Shoot ya I forgot to mention how many days I had at home last year. That was awesome

-the money only beats a regional if you are a captain, but even then there are regional LCA’s making $30-40K/month, obviously not the norm

-are you buying business class tickets overseas? Huge reason to be in this industry is for the benefits

- year 1-2 FO’s are making $150/hour+ at regionals, plus all the bonuses.. an additional $45K

- sooo you wouldn’t go to Delta cause they have the oldest fleet? SNJ syndrome is real

- guaranteed path to UA, Delta, or AA as a plan B.. and being a captain at a regional is a guaranteed interview at a major? Same as Frontier..

- the only reason I see to go to Frontier is for base location and if you can’t get to a major from your regional

- Atlas year 3 FO’s clearing 30K/month too flying a 747 all over the world

LOL

I stopped reading here. Be a little more subtle next time.

first year is $90+ at the regionals … same as Frontier, after year 1 all of them bring you up to captain pay once you hit 750-850 hours which is ~$150/hour at all the regionals. Frontier you get your modest pay raise each year until you upgrade which is over 3 years right now

The only pros I see for frontier are living in base in FL and upgrading to captain in 3 years, but honestly anyone whose under 40 is going to take the job at a Legacy when they call you, likely in less than 3 years

F9 QOL is near industry leading, with one caveat- that you live less than 30 minutes drive time to your base.
