Thanks to all that have responded. It really seems like the ULCC model is growing exponentially. I was just reading an article on anna aero about ULCC growth in Europe. If the US follows the European footstep, F9 would be a great career.
Thanks to all the 135/91 tailwins and atlantic bucks crew that have responded. Imagining no more shoulder taps about catering or internet on complex arrival and departure procedures makes me excited to apply. Happy to hear more input from those who have left the business credit card for per deim. We’ll see what’s next. Thanks Again

I flew 91/135 for about 9 years. I enjoyed every minute of it at the time. I do have previous 121 time with a regional before that. I am currently flying 121 cargo stuff and not too happy right now. I have my app in with F9 as well and hoping to get an interview soon. I’m looking forward to get back to the 121 pax side for multiple reasons. Yes, the ULCC model seems to be going very well right now and hopefully will continue to go well into the future.

I’m in a very similar boat and also considering applying to F9 for hope of the same bright future. I also have heard nothing but positive things about the pilot group. Hope this is accurate information.
I have travelled as a passenger and think the operation is very close to knocking it out of the park. A little better customer service and some sort of inflight connectivity and the airline has unlimited potiental.

My JB friends said pt 91 pilots were the reason they had to delay bringing ALPA on board. Not saying the only reason, but that combined with the milspecs definitely delayed it and cost the majority of the pilots a lot of money. I have flown with a few and found them either very pleasant or not pleasant at all. Dont care about the airmen skillz, necessarily.
I’ve had quite a few FOs coming from purely corporate careers, honestly they’re some of the best people I’ve flown with. They have no issues through training, good attitudes (not lazy or offended by suggestions), they manage the aircraft well for newbies, and they’re good people to hang out with on an overnight.
Our pilot recruitment hasn’t been overlooking good corporate pilots and I hope that remains the case.

I do not care about spelling skillz either.
Keeping the thread on-track, sounds like a lot of diversified talent is applying at Frontier; and that is refreshing.
Good luck to all who are applying!

The mental ineptitude of this post is the reason things get delayed, not a certain subset of pilots within the industry. You’re trying to tell me a small minority of corporate pilots at JB prevented a union from coming to town? Good one. Also, an ambiguous statement like “...I have flown with a few and found them either very pleasant or not pleasant at all...” is as useful as saying “some farts stink and some farts don’t”.

These are some of the people who are responsible for the union delay..
