I was just on the JS with frontier and the crew showed me a memo with the USC number that clarify that pilots should not be paying the PA city tax, if anyone else have it can they post it on here or PM to me so I could pass it to my union, I am currently at PSA and paying this tax as well.

Thanks.

You don’t need the memo. The IRS tax code states that as a transportation employee who makes more than 50% of their earnings away from “base” you are only subject to pay taxes in the city that you reside.

Good luck

I've been here since February and have never paid the city wage tax. All of the sudden on my most recent payeck, payroll started deducting it. Anyone have more recent experience with this issue?

Whoever gave that explanation was making stuff up. Terminal A-East/West are in Delaware County/Tinicum Township. The rest of the terminals are in Philadelphia County/City of Philadelphia. Other explanations here are correct that transportation workers not residents of Philly are not subject to the local municipal tax. Payroll would need to fix this, though if you've already had $$ taken out you can talk to your accountant about either gettting refund or a credit to your own local taxes (if applicable).

if she tells you that you owe the Philladelphia city tax as a non resident transportation worker she’s wrong.
