Since we put so many more people on our 321s, we are likely to run into range issues due to weights.
Biffle said in one of the interviews that they might want this plane to just do 230 passenger transcons.

To lazy to listen to anything BB says but that's interesting. Really, what's the point as the non XLR can do that now. If you need to stop for fuel, then just stop for fuel.

The 321s that American run on transcons have extra business class and extra legroom economy seats. I think they only carry 155 pax, allowing them to top off the tanks and not worry about the weights. Turns out adding half a plane worth of folks to the same kind of plane has consequences

It can't. The 321 loaded with 230 pax can only do PHL to LAS. NY to LA is out of reach.

I have no idea what my heaviest TO has been in a 321 but I haven’t ever had the need to use bump. Think I’ve only flown with one CA who said he used it. When the plane feels heavy to me we still seem to be 12-15 below max TO so I’m surprised it doesn’t have the capabilities.

If we really only wanted them for transcons we would’ve just bought the 321NEO LR version (the kind JetBlue will be using for their Europe flying). XLR is over kill for that. I think Franky is looking forward to future markets and BB was caught off guard by the decision so he’s just trying not to commit to a certain destination. We all know they can barely decide and keep routes 6 months from now. What they plan to fly in 4.5-5 years is anyone’s guess, but I’d take a good guess and say we will be flying somewhere far over water with them.

No fan of his, but what to expect him to do? Did we forget that their never was supposed to be an MCO base? it was going to be ATL, but that was bungled through loose lips.

Do we want our management team blabbing our one, two or five year plans to the industry just so UAL can have plenty of time to cut us off. I will take misinformation and or no information as opposed to what the management clowns over at Jetblue do.
