Because pilots were in charge of hiring until recently it meant they were looking for people who they would want to work with. Will they drive me crazy by day four? Do they have a personality? Or are they a robot that responds to questions with "affirmative" that I want to throat punch by the end of the day...

HR hiring will change things.

Perhaps the people you “want to work with” are too apt to use F9 as a stepping stone?

I don’t really think the stepping stone thing is much of a big deal anymore... there’s hardly any attrition now... the pilots still do the hiring... it’s just more objective than subjective now...

For anyone who thinks indigo is going anywhere, they’re dead wrong... indigo is going to own frontier for a very long time... there might be a partial ipo but that’s probably about it... we have something like 200 planes on order... I don’t know the exact numbers but I’d bet we’ll have even more than projected... the pilot shortage is real and out of all the indigo owned airlines, frontier is the only one right now and in the future that will probably be able to adequately staff those airplanes and even that’s not a guarantee...

There is light at the end of the tunnel and there’s some cool things going on... if you like time off, you can get time off... if you want to make money, you can make money (in RGS, someone said a Denver CA was near $700k this year and a 3rd year ORD FO was at $280k)... this place will always be cheap and the same bs you put up with at your regional, will probably happen here... there are worse fates....

How would it be possible to be near $700k? Isn’t that about double the highest CA salary (from what I saw on the APF salary page)?

$99k bonus check... 4 weeks of vacation... and having no life... I’ve seen him in the airport on the phone just refreshing it looking for premium...

I did 140 credits last month with vacation... no PAF... flew one extra trip... had 19 days off... it’s very doable if you’re selfish and have no life

How many 121 hours are needed before you would recommend putting in the application? Go with what the website says or sooner?

Tons of people get hired without any 121 time.

Ok no 121 time, but definitely they want the jet time. I guess I shouldn't apply until I have that amount of "jet" time.. (Which for me is the same as 121)

I had no jet time when I was hired. And I have a friend interviewing this week with no jet time as well.
