The point is Frontier has the best casm in the industry.
When the next recession rolls around, Frontier is going to be in good shape. Walmart, Dollar General and McDonald's always survive the recessions way better than Whole Foods, Ruth's Chris and Restoration Hardware.

Thank you for the replies, everyone. I really appreciate the dialogue and discussion about the potential cons of the company. To those of you that were saying I was trolling, that was not the intent whatsoever. F9 has a strong future ahead, I'm just trying to get some counterpoints to anchor myself in reality and try to really understand the potential upsides in order to add some perspective when making the decision. The economy is hot right now and everyone (except AA) looks like a rockstar in the present climate.
I'm convinced ULCC has a niche in the U.S. market and it sounds like the Frontiers and Spirits of the world, while not 100% recession proof, are going to fair much better in the next downturn than some if not all of the legacy carriers.

There he is!!
CC your one to talk. You were part of the ultimate low bar setting. LOL
Those of us at F9 today are raising it. Don’t criticize people for trying to clean up the mess you helped create.

First off all, I'm not the one setting any bars here, high or low. I'm a line pilot that has the ability to look at things from a business perspective. This thread is trying to answer the question of what the relative risks are with choosing Frontier as a career choice.
If you are disappointed in the quality of the product that we provide, I would remind you that we are not the customers. We are employees and the financial success of the airline is in our best interest. If you want to enjoy a quality travel experience while on your days off, I suggest you fly on Delta. I'm here because I believe this business model will be successful long term. I base that mostly on knowing how businesses that cater to cost concious consumers fare during a recession. Clearly, the company is doing well in today's economic times, and I believe that it will continue to do well in darker economic times as well. United on the other hand is not set up well to deal with cutting fares.
Do not confuse our product with our career.

Franke told me “cash is king” and when the next recession hits he will have a boatload of it. Recession is not the time to spinoff your most lucrative investment. It’s a time to shop for other distressed properties.
