I don’t think a permanent separation is being discussed. I had heard they are talking about compensating furloughed pilots a certain amount each month to be paid upon return to the company in exchange for coming in and staying current.

If that’s true then I’m the King of England. No way is a cost conscious airline like Frontier going to pay somebody on furlough. Not to stay current, not at all. No. Way.

No idea what‘s in the works but the answer to how many are 60-63 is “not many”. If they offered as deep at 55 like SWA it might bear fruit but the likelihood of an early out of any kind is slim/none in my opinion. COLA-3/6/12 may be an option though.

I believe Alpa is meeting with the company Monday to discuss numbers. We need to see the companies and have our proposed savings from longer term cola’s and potentially other section 23 furlough mitigation. I’m sure it won’t get resolved in a day so maybe mid next week? Forget about early outs. There’s no savings to leverage as it won’t create multiple wide body training events if they stay.

Agreed. I'm skeptical any meaningful mitigation will be offered. I truly hope I'm wrong, but the ONLY reason COLA-1s were offered was because it's on the gov's dime.

Yes, pretty young crowd. I don't think they will spend cash buying out people when they can just lay off newbies for free for a few months. If training is required after callback it will be minimal.

There will be NO furloughs. This will pass. By November life will return to normal. All that is going on with the warning letters is a shout out to the government of what could happen. But big brother will step in again and after the second round of help we will return to massive flying and huge money. Relax people. It’s all good.
