Quote: Our 4th quarter financials aren’t out yet but I imagine we are close to breaking even. UAL and DAL are burning 5 million per day and AAL is burning 10 million per day. Let them rack up debt and continue digging their holes. Most of their debt is variable interest rates and the fed is about to raise interest rates. American almost burned 2 billion in interest on debt last year. Just wait until those interest rates rise and they can’t pay it off when it is due. As soon as we are on the other side of COVID Frontier will be leaps and bounds ahead of every other airline. Until then enjoy your reserve days off and AVA’ed trips.

Ok back to sky falling chatter.
I’m not expecting to blown away but not disappointed. February 9th at market close.

I agree…. The sky isn’t falling. Just for a recap, for fun, let’s review the past couple of months:

Our Director of HR all of the sudden “retired.” Turns out, he’s going to Delta.

Our recruiting team left.

Unexpectedly, our system CP resigned, as well as two base CP’s?

We found out ORD was closing from the FA’s, although we were clued in on it based of someone who shall go unnamed telling a recurrent class that something was happening in ORD and that some people would like it, some people wouldn’t.

The company dropped a bunch of section 19’s on the same day for people who called in sick or fatigued during December as our competitors were crushed by Omicron, although we made it through somewhat unscathed. We were lucky enough to receive some choice messages from management regarding said truancy.

F9 has started firing people who put in their notice to go elsewhere.

I’m not even going to even mention the woes at the schoolhouse.

Oh and the wonderful influx of 10 hour 3 day trips has been a joy.

Is the sky falling? Eh, maybe not. But are there better places to work? Yes. Our recent attrition shows that many people think that’s the case.

To be on the safe side, just endorse your check over to me, Charles Andrew Samuel Hightower. Or just use my initials, C*A*S*H

i will be happy to deposit it for you.

No the sky certainly isn't falling. But the toilet is backing up and the stench is... noticeable.

….and then what happens? The LCC/ULCC’s unlike their Legacy counterparts don’t share that success with their employees in the form of profit sharing. I guess I should be excited that all the C-Level executives are raking it in?

The Legacy airlines aren’t going anywhere, debt withstanding. I think the past 24 months of Covid showed us that.

Legacy airlines on government assistance indeed are not going anywhere

The past 24 months of COVID showed us that

Yeah, we don't get profit sharing.

But we have job security

Do we though? Does anyone really?

You’re acting like everything was so peachy SWA, Spirit, Jetblue, Frontier and others. All took on more debt, most sent WARN letters.

As the Covid hoopla settles down, the Legacies led by Delta will start making a profit. I’d say their jobs at the moment are pretty secure when they’re retiring 500+ pilots a year. In the end, they’ll be fine.

If the ULCCs are "fine now", they will be even finer when legacies come back

thanks
