Base seniority/progression info

People are damn near getting PHX out of training or in it. You should come here if you have the chance. Passing because you have to commute for a month or two is a terrible reason. I could understand living in DEN and not wanting to commute... But, you live in a junior base and right next to another junior base. (Both of which are growing)

As far as PHX is concerned, it hasn't even opened yet. Maybe AA or SWA will match fares and run us out of town. So, unless you already live there, I wouldn't buy anything for a while unless prices crash and it's a smoking deal.

I just want to make sure I got this right…because you can’t get PHX out of training you are gonna pass on a multi million dollar career path? Even though PHX is brand new, not full, and guys are getting it just a few months later? On second thought maybe you are making the right choice..

There are a whole bunch of multi-million dollar careers for pilots out there, and every one of them comes with less toxic and more adept management groups. As far as PHX goes, I don’t see it being viable in the long term for F9, but in fairness that isn’t based on any intrinsic data, just don’t see it working.

Franke knows PHX, he's got a bit of experience there. It's a great location to have a base. You can cover the west coast during the day and then redeye the planes to the east coast at night. It's also a giant and fast growing city.
PHX should work out just fine

There’s no good reason to come here other than to get a type rating and move on. Unless you live in MCO or LAS (or want to be a DEN FO for 25 years) the base situation is precarious at best. Just take the job offer, then apply to United, Delta, wherever and move on. They are now constantly reducing bases to staff others and displacing. And it’s only going to worse. I’m an 8 year CA and they closed my base this year. It completely screwed me. I just finished building a house here and moved in last week. Now that I have time again I’m updating my logbook and applying at United. Don’t be like me. This place will screw you over.
