I think you and I agree on many things. I do not believe JB+NK will stagnate, unless the pilot shortage is so acute they have no choice. I believe they have every desire and intention to grow faster, if they can staff it. The demand for our product is definitely there. It's an open question as to whether management will do what it takes to staff the company, but we may just do it for them with an industry leading JCBA (if this even happens).
They are trying to net 15% growth in JB pilots this year, so definitely not stagnation. And JB+NK will also have considerable orders on hand. Hopefully we all get an answer soon as to which way this train is gonna pull out of the station. |

Good luck staying relevant in the industry now. Better head back over to your board, you guys are going to have to figure out where to find pilots. |

JB has large loyal customer bases and large slot and gate portfolios in places that are basically unobtainium to new entrants. The ULCCs can't even make daily and full year service work for much of there network, and have almost zero large metros (where the well funded FREQUENT travelers are) where they control anything approaching a large proportion of local traffic... They can't even afford gates in Denver anymore and are switching to hardstands (Frontier). They can afford gates, but not at a low enough CASM to keep from losing market share to UAL and SWA. One or the other, can't do both, can't afford gates and stay relevant in Denver. JB will either improve it's offer and win (appears less likely) or move on to plan B (which was plan A just a few weeks ago). |

I guess that could be good news….if we didn’t have the most anti pilot CPO in history…….evidenced by more CAs heading out…..

JB doesn't "need" NK. NK brings both solutions and new problems. There are solutions without NK, just would take money and time. Of course management wants the easier/faster solution. In it's absence, they will have to take the longer road. But will avoid the problems.
