I’ve never seen so much hostility over aerodynamics, flying techniques, and procedures. Can’t imagine how nasty it’ll get with real issues like mergers/SLIs!

Well, maybe you shouldn't have eaten them all because that would explain your ADD

Agreed.

Add speed, do config 3 or whatever technique you like best and fly safe. Limit pitch on landing and go around if needed. Let’s stop striking the tail.

Amen.

Reading this is like listening to a bunch of dorks argue around a keg at a riddle party.

This guy will tell you everything you need to know about Airbus flying.

I'm so glad I joined APC so that I could learn how to land an Airbus in a crosswind.

We haven't even gotten into crosswind technique yet! We haven't even figured out what flap setting or speed to fly. Make yourself comfortable, this is going to be a long road

I liked reading this thread; interesting to see what other pilots are thinking, even when things get chippy. Thanks to those who made a contribution to the discussion.

I don’t see how GS mini has anything to do with a tailstrike. When it is working the plane is not anywhere near VLS and the bottom of it’s envelope on approach. I see the low energy state when GS mini is not working aka wind is not above 15 knots. I see VLS and VAPP sometimes less then 5 knots apart on a NEO. What I mean is VLS might be 130 and VAPP is 135 in the box but on the speed tape it is clearly 133. Then we add in a little auto thrust lag and you are at or below VLS before you know it. If this is like this in the flare and you don’t do anything about it now you have less lift to work with and need more pitch to compensate. This is where it gets ugly. Basic aerodynamics. Pay attention to actual VAPP next time you fly to make sure it is where it is supposed to be. Also don’t let auto thrust drop it below VApp. Or do what many of us are doing by adding 5 knots to avoid this situation in the first place and have a buffer. Fly safe my fellow aviators.
