Class Dates

Hello,

Does anyone have an insight as to where class dates currently stand for new hires? Interviewing in November.

Thank you!

I think It really depends on whether you are interviewing as a FO, RTP Candidate, or other type of “Cadet”.

For the RTP individual (this is anecdotal only), I know of guys who interviewed March of 23 and are getting quoted start dates for early 2024 (Jan/ Feb).

FO hires are significantly less is my understanding.

DJKem 11-01-2023 03:16 AM

Interviewed Aug 24th and was told I was in the pool for Dec 19th. Direct hire FO.

DJKem 11-02-2023 07:50 AM

Spoke to soon. 2 of the 3 of us that got hired in my group just got emails that we were getting pushed from Dec to Jan.

Interviewed and offered a job on 11/2. Sounds like I can expect well after the new year?

Can anyone else chime in with how long it took to get a class date?

We had a cadet call earlier this week and they said dates are about 6 months out. Seniority is determined by sign on date first, but you need to have all the requirements to get a date. On average 10-12 cadets a class, and 700 are in the program at various stages. I found it interesting that only 140 people attended the first information call, and expected the number to be much higher. Once a flight instructor punches out 1500, not sure how many are actually waiting 6-8 months for a class, so unclear on the actual numbers.

I"m not in a rush, so will continue to collect my thousand every month and pick up some contract work.

I probably should’ve clarified. I’m off the street FO hire, not cadet. Is that 6 month time frame accurate for all new hires or just cadets?

Nah. Biffle is waiting for the judge to deny the JetBlue/ Spirit merger. Then, when Spirit's stock price craters, he will go back in and scoop it up four a fraction of the original price.

He testified in the case today. Andy (who was there) posted about it in the JetBlue forum.

So yeah sounds like we will be waiting a while for class dates

Nice angle; yeah, this would be more plausible I bet. Either way, somebody's paint scheme is going to be different within a year or two.

From his testimony it seems like he’s in favor of the merger and hopes to profit off the scraps.

Hi all, I got an email in the end of October from recruitment saying my class date got pushed from december to January. I interviewed mid-end of august and am just trying to figure out if I should expect any more delays before getting the Official CJO and onboarding paperwork.

My logic is that once they shrunk the class in october it kinda pushed everything back a bit. I also saw that for October the class size was only 39 compared to mid 50's/60's it usually has.

Thanks!

Pilottim79 11-22-2023 08:12 AM

WTF(Welcome to Frontier). Frontier lives and dies on over promise, under deliver. WHatever the plan is expect it to be poorly executed and helter skelter at all points. Nothing is for sure except chaos.

How many times have you been pushed now?

Hired in the beginning of Nov. The internet makes it seem like I will be waiting a while...

TxAggie1999 12-14-2023 11:40 AM

Just wanted to ask if anyone has any updates on new FO classes, current training delays, or forecasts with regard to training classes? I interviewed and was added to the hiring pool a few months ago. I'm really excited, but haven't heard any updates except to expect a class in early 2024.

citationxtango 12-14-2023 12:13 PM

No idea about next year's classes, but the December system bid just came out, a whoppping 8 FO slots... I would imagine next spring class sizes will increase again, but not sure when they will return to the 50+ size.

LifetimeCFI 12-14-2023 01:04 PM

I got in through the cadet program. I signed in June of 2023, and I wont be starting til March. Some of the RTP guys are having some long waits as well. Newer cadets were told 8-10 months. I've at least signed my actual class offer letter with date in writing. Hoping it doesn't go up in smoke.

They're trying to keep the classes a healthy mix of cadet (CFIs for the most part) and non-cadet (135/RTP/121 hires).

What is your experience? Do you have a backup plan?

I signed onto the cadet program in September with all the requirements and was told March/April of next year. I have a work bonus at my non-flying job, so that works out well for me. If dates keep slipping well into the summer, I might need to look at alternatives. We have a cadet call next week and will be curious on guidance to those that meet the requirements. Pretty happy to get $1000/month with the current arrangement.

No airline has ever pushed a class. Cmon.

Video sent out today to pilots in the waiting pool from VP Flt Ops that classes in Jan are going back to 60ish.

flamingtomatoes 12-15-2023 11:49 AM

VP of flight ops also stated in the video that they are planning to announce the opening of a more "exotic" base in early 2024!

CJO 2.5 months ago

Hey everyone! This is slightly off topic but I recived a CJO 2.5 months ago and when I email recruiting they keep saying my compliance documents are still "Pending" and that my finger prints are still "Not cleared yet". Has anyone else experienced this? Im not sure what to d

DJKem 12-21-2023 11:00 AM

I'm assuming everyone else waiting for a class date just got the latest email from recruiting. Feb class date got pushed and this time with no expected new class date. Just put in the pool "with further updates in the new year". Starting to look a lot like Spirit's dilemma.

Is the class smaller now or is it cancelled entirely?
