Airline managements have been trying to balance on-time brake release with paying the least possible to pilots for as long as I can remember. If they crack down on it, give them EXACTLY what they want. Never release the brake until all T’s are crossed and I’s are dotted. No favors, no exceptions.

Nope. I guess we will see, but I'm having a hard time believing this is the case unless something else is involved.
My guess is OOS airplane, popped brake waiting, bypassing protocols and the FEDs are involved.

Theres also been a few captains, but this has been years ago that would do something with the clock so they’d always leave 10 mins early. I won’t even close the cabin door until I’m Returned to service on MX.

Hard to believe, I know. Unfortunately, upon reason and belief, the 2 months w/o pay is in fact accurate owing to the alleged abuse of the parking brake. It appears "they are watching". It is unclear what additional circumstances may have been involved in this case. At the end of the day, losing $40K+ for releasing the parking brake prior to having the Perf Data downloaded seems draconian. F9's former culture of teamwork and perserverance is rapidly evaporatin9, if not already non-existant. If this "punishment" is true, I envision attrition increasing from 30+/month. What incentive is there to stay with F9 in what some may consider to be a hostile work environment? In all reality, what does F9 offer customers, shareholders, employees that is more competitive, more desirable, and more enticing to seek employment with F9, or remain employed with F9? Is being "green" that earthshattering to the point F9 is gaining market share? increasing shareaholder wealth? Does F9 have a strategy post failed Spirit merger? How will "out and backs" be profitable this time considering the previous failed attempts - what changed? The days of Bethune, Kelleher, Krandall, Borman and Rickenbacer are gone. Does BF and BB have a strategy to compete and win? How will the DEN A concourse outdoor airstairs function in inclement wx? Many successful airlines recognize the most important assest of the company are the people whom they employ. Great reads: Hard Landing, Worst to First, and Nuts. We can all learn from succeses and failures from the industries greats.

Agree. There’s gotta be a whoooooole lot more to it than just releasing the brake before data is received. My guess, even if the two months off is even true, captain was warned multiple times to stop whatever he was doing unless it was egregious like departing with an airplane OOS with a significant MEL affecting safety of flight. I can see getting a couple months for something like that.

Vol 1 tells us not to push until the before start checklist is complete and performance is part of that. If CA determines we need to push and get numbers afterwards, I'm calling for push.

our Aerodata is super quick. Send for numbers and get it back within 1-2 min. I don’t understand how American is always waiting on numbers
