There’s a great deal of maintenance performed in PHX, the flights are full and there is an expanding number of common gates with the Terminal 3 addition. Someone is trying to scare people away from PHX, and suckers are taking the bait. Someone remind me, what’s the last base we closed? Meanwhile MIA and CVG have half the departures of PHX.

UltiPro has an active vacancy for A&P Mechanic for Phoenix. F9 Company employee, not contract.
Barry wouldn't spend the 5 cents on electrons to post that vacancy if PHX was closing
Also: Barry's arch rival enemy #1, American, opened a 737 base in PHX. PHX economy is strong (in light of the overall national economy). Both SWA and AA consider PHX a hub airport. Barry loves legacy hubs. Just LOVES them. He can throw that 00:30 and 05:30 departure on the board and scoop up "free" passengers that are not loyal to either brand, but to, uh, cost. I don't think Barry, ever (except for the Chicago situation back in ?? 2022, which reopened in ??? 2023) has ever "closed" a Pilot base in a Legacy hub city. I could be wrong.

Summary: My opinion is PHX is not going anyway, Pilot base-wise
Barry hack:
Before earnings, before the Facebook wife club, before most of that, early indicators are on UltiPro. If you see "Station Manager Vacancy - XXX-not-officially-a-base-yet Airport" listed, then the logical conclusion is you have a new base in the works. Same for "Maintenance Supervisor" etc. If they are filling management jobs at a "new" airport, for no apparent reason, that is called a clue. UltiPro can be configured to send you email alerts to your company email.

Only way I see PHX closing is if we went back to having less bases and more trips. Which I don't see happening. I think we see a new base before we see PHX or any other base close. Gotta park these 17 (2025 remaining deliveries) new planes somewhere.
